In this article, we will be talking a different theory, instead of the Calorie Shifting theory. Many of you that are concerned about diets and weight loss should have heard about the Negative Calorie Theory. According to theory, eating certain foods such as celery will actually result in negative calorie because it takes more energy to chew, consume and digest the celery than the energy released from celery. Is this true?

Snopes.com (a website that examines whether rumors and urban legends are true) has proven that eating celery actually results in negative calorie :

So, what will it be if you are combining negative calorie theory and the shifting calories theory together? The answer is... there is not a big difference.

According to the negative calorie theory, many vegetables and fruits are of negative calorie due to the high cellulose (complex carb) that cannot be digested by human body. In the Calorie Shifting diet and most of the real & workable diet plan, you are required to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Therefore, most of the diets have actually already implemented some sort of negative calorie theory to some extent.

Of course, the result will be even better if you choose to include more foods that are claimed to be negative in calorie. No matter whether they are really negative calorie, one thing for sure is that they are highly nutritious and have very low caloric content. Therefore, these foods can help to fill you up and provide sufficient nutrients during down shift day, and you will be able to lose weight healthily.
